Any child from the ages of 8-18 are eligible to join this program. If you are intersted in joining the Young Marines of Cincinnati please contact us and let us know a little about the child who would be signing up.
The cost to begin is $35.00 on the first official day. After that a total of $250.00 needs to be paid in order to participate for the youth's first year. For families needing assistance a payment plan can be discussed to pay this amount of a period of time.
Any year beyond the first year is only $35.00. The $200.00 is used to enroll your son or daughter with the National organization and for the cost of initial uniform's. Any uniform needs beyond the initial issue are the responsibility of the parent.
Upon joining the Young Marines, youth undergo a 26-hour orientation program, generally spread out over several weekly meetings. This orientation program is affectionately called "Boot Camp." The youth learn general subjects such as history, customs and courtesies, close order drill, physical fitness, and military rank structure. After graduating from Young Marine "Boot Camp", the youth have the opportunity to learn more new skills, earn rank, wear the Young Marine uniform and work toward ribbon awards. Young Marines earn ribbons for achievement in areas such as leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid and drug resistance education.
